  • How long does an appraisal take? It really depends on the type of appraisal and the size of the project. Most ranch appraisals can be completed in 30 to 60 days with some exceptions for more complex units. Conservation easements are more long-term projects with the process taking from three to nine months depending on all parties involved. Your appraisal will be scheduled and the timing discussed at the time of initial contact.

  • How much does an appraisal cost? This also depends on the complexity and purpose of the appraisal and turn around time requested. Many appraisals must adhere to several different types of guidelines including the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), the Yellow Book (USFLA), individual program guidelines for government programs like the Natural Resources and Conservation Service programs, IRS code, and numerous other additional guidelines set by lending institutions and the Federal Government.
